Our Methodology

Before we can update your messaging, we have to ensure that your focus still works for the world today. To do that, we employ our simple, though not necessarily easy, methodology to help you reconsider your focus and reframe your message so you and your work can thrive.

Ask

The first of three steps to our methodology is ASK. To refine your focus we ask questions. A lot of them. Some simple. Some tough. Some fun. Some not. We ask questions of you, your teams, the people you help, and the people who help you.

The answers lead us to a framework that not only secures the support you need to thrive, it keeps you focused on what you do best and what is needed most.

Build

Second, we BUILD your Focus & Messaging Framework, which includes three important components:

WHY. The change you want to see, your vision.

  • Why you care about the work matters; It inspires others to care as well.

HOW. How you show up in the world as a brand.

  • These are your brand’s personality attributes, which in turn will influence the way the brand comes to life verbally and visually.

WHO. The audiences who are most important to your success.

  • We get clear on what they need from you and how they want to feel in the process.

WHAT. What you do specifically to meet their needs (and wants).

  • More than an often forgotten mission statement, this forms your core message and align with your most important work.

  • A simple, one-sentence description of your organization
  • An elevator pitch that piques people’s interest and compels them to learn more
  • New website or social media copy
  • Updated logo and/or visual identity
